Thesis

Annie told me that I never write anything on the blog any more and I should post something. Here is my thought for the day:

I'm glad I don't do homework on Sundays. It's my one day that I don't have to feel guilty if I don't work on my thesis. I don't think I'll ever get my PhD, I've heard that dissertations are even worse. I am going to do a study entitled "Permanency Planning for Adult with Developmental Disabilities Living at Home with their Parents." It's a long title, but an even bigger problem. There are over 500 people over the age of 45 with a developmental disability in OC that still live with their parents. Most of them haven't made any clear plans for when they can't take care of their adult child any longer. Hopefully I'll have a very successful study and find some great solution to the problem.

My other thought for the day is that Zoe is really cute when she is sleeping.

Cute family picture! And Ben, that is a problem. What do older parents do with handicapped kids that still live with them when they can't take care of themselves? Some can farm them off to other family members, but that is a huge favor to ask of someone. The other option is turning them over to the state, which, let's face it, is an ugly option. Keep me posted on this one. I'm an english major, remember? I love this kind of stuff!
