Grandma!

In April Grandma and Uncle Justin came to visit. It was still a little cold but I think everyone still had a good time. I know Zoe did.

Zoe got a lot of snuggles and story time from Grandma. Or maybe I should say that Grandma got a lot of snuggles from Zoe! (Justin slept most of the time.)

All Zoe wanted to do was to build with Grandma. I think Grandma spent 3 days straight just building. They got quite good at making buildings!

Grandma was a lot of help and so was Zoe!
While Grandma was here she gave Arleigh her birthday presents and Zoe got her birthday presents early.
Zoe's favorite was the preschool reading book. She loves to read it with me. She's getting really good at recognizing words and letters.
Arleigh's favorite was, of course, the box that everything came in.
It was a lot of fun to have them visit. Zoe keeps asking "can I go see Grandma?" and I have to tell her not for a while. We are excited to visit them soon.

On a side note my blog keeps putting rather large spaces between things and won't let me fix it. So if the blog looks very spread apart, it is not my fault.

Arleigh's Birthday Party

We had a small birthday party with my family for Arleigh's birthday. It was a nice little party. We had chicken salad sandwiches, opened presents ate cake and the best part was that Arleigh took a nap in the middle of her party. But since it was just family it didn't really matter and everyone just hung out until she woke up.

Getting ready for the party.

Eating.
More presents.

Getting ready for cake.

Happy Birthday to you!

Yum! She wasn't to into shoving it all in her mouth and when Ben gave her ice cream she cried. But she has since learned to appreciate cake and at Zoe's birthday just shoved it in her mouth.

Birthday Cake

For Arleigh's birthday I decied to do a caterpillar cupcake cake. I thought that cupcake cakes were super cute and looked pretty easy. So I googled cupcake cake and there are a ton of different cakes.

Here's the pre-frosted caterpillar. I made a small round cake for the head and a whole bunch of cupcakes for the body.

Frosting the cake. Go Ben Go!
Frosted.

Here is the complete caterpillar. We used licorice for the legs and I think it was junior mints for the eyes. I think it turned out pretty cute.

Time for Presents!

She got some blocks that both girls love to play with.

And a drum that she also loves
But the best part was the paper.
