Now you know

So I was thinking to myself that I should share more of the things I enjoy doing, including the random things I like, books I may be reading, and projects I am working on. In hopes that my family and friends might get to know me a little better. So here we go...

I love to crochet. It fascinates me all the things you can create with a hook and some yarn. I also love yarn. I love to go down the yarn isle in a store and look at it and feel it all. That being said I have now found a new favorite yarn. It is Caron Simply Soft yarn.

Product Thumb

It is so soft and the color choices were awesome. It is making the softest blanket.

Thank you for reading my random post, now you know something new about me.

P.S. Arleigh is chewing on Ben's Flip-Flop, do you think I should stop her?

Camping in Yellowstone

We went camping in Yellowstone this summer and these are a lot of the pictures that we took.

We went through Grand Teton National Park. We had to stop and let Zoe run around for a minute and feed Arleigh.
Eating meals was a bit of a challenge for Zoe. There was so much to do and see and play with that she didn't want to sit down to eat. I don't think she ate enough to feed a bird. And it was quite a challenge for us to feed Arleigh since she won't drink cool or even luke warm formula. It has to be hot. And where we were camping didn't have any hook ups, and the bath rooms didn't even have hot water. During the day we kept a bottle of water in the window of our van (that kept it nice and warm) and at night we boiled water right before bed and put it in a metal thermos and put it in a towel and put it in a little cooler. And by 4 in the morning it started to cool off but it was still warm enough for her to drink. I think we were pretty clever.
We went to Old Faithful and watched it erupt and went on the little hike around it looking at the geysers.
After Old Faithful we stopped for a picnic lunch. We were going to do hot dogs but we forgot the propane to heat up our propane stove. So we had sandwiches. Again Zoe enjoyed getting out of the car and played around a bit.
While we were pic-nicking I forgot that we had a trailer hitch on our van. I ran right into it and caused a giant goose egg to form on my leg. It hurt really, really, really bad.
While in Yellowstone we saw several buffalos, several elk, several bucks and several pelicans. I don't have any pictures of the bucks or pelicans, but we did get a few good ones of the buffalo and elk.
We stopped at the Yellowstone Falls. They are so beautiful and awesome.
This is how Arleigh enjoyed the falls. She is heavy!
Surprisingly Arleigh slept really good camping. I was worried that she would be to cold, but I shouldn't have worried. She had the best sleep camping. She slept till 6 most mornings. And up to that point she was waking up at 2 or 3. Yay! for camping!!
The second day camping Zoe was laying next to me in bed and Ben was trying to get her to move so we could change her clothes and I could get up. She threw a fit, threw her head back and "CRACK" went my nose. We're pretty sure she broke it. I was swollen and a little black and blue, but not as bad as everyone was expecting. It hurt way worse than when I hit my leg on the trailer hitch. She hung out with Daddy the rest of the day so I could lay down and try to get rid of the head ache that came with the cracked nose. They hung out in the hammock for a lot of that time. Needless to say, I have been very careful of where her head is at all times.
All dirty and ready to go home.
On the way home we stopped at a park and had the hot dog lunch that we couldn't do earlier in the week. And since we were headed home we had all the necessary components to cook the hot dogs.
It was a ton of fun seeing Ben's family and all the animals in the park. But I don't think that I will be camping with a 4 month old again.

Family Reunion

In July we went to Wyoming for Ben's family reunion. His parents and brothers camped at the campsite. We on the other hand did not feel up to camping with a 4 month old with no water or electricity and so we camped in his Uncle's back yard. That way we could get warm water for Arleigh who was still waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning. It was much more pleasant, and we got to have Yummy breakfasts with Ben's Aunt and Uncle.

Here's Zoe playing in the backyard.
Blowing bubbles with Daddy and her uncle.
Getting some help from Daddy.
Arleigh camping. She was supposed to be asleep, but she was laying in there playing and looking around.
Up at the campsite where we had dinner and everybody hung out.
Ben's Aunt made Zoe a S'more. Zoe is not a fan of S'mores. She took a teeny tiny bite, got it all over her face and hands and started to cry for me to wash her off. What's great is that I got to eat a S'more that I didn't have to make!
I think this face is the best. It's a combination of disgust and "why in the world are you taking pictures and not cleaning this off".
Here's Zoe helping Ben get ready to hook up the trailer to head to Yellowstone.
After the Reunion in Wyoming we headed to Yellowstone for a few days with Ben's parents and siblings. I will post pictures of Yellowstone later.

We really enjoyed seeing Ben's aunts, uncles, and cousins. Zoe enjoyed playing with all the other kids. And Arleigh enjoyed all the attention she got.
